About Me
Hi, I’m Rebecca DeLong, and I founded Tranquil JC with the vision of creating a safe, supportive space for healing, connection, and growth. With 17 years of experience in the mental health field, I specialize in trauma, relational work, and clinical supervision. I graduated from Syracuse University in 2008 and have pursued extensive training in evidence-based therapies to provide the best support possible for my clients and supervisees.

I work collaboratively with individuals and couples, fostering a space of safety, curiosity, and compassionate listening. My approach integrates education about the mind and body, practical tools, and a deep respect for each person’s unique journey. Whether working through anxiety, trauma, or relationship challenges, I believe that healing happens in connection—with ourselves and others.
My Approach
I strive to create a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel empowered to explore their challenges. My work is informed by a variety of therapeutic methods, including:
-
EMDR for trauma processing
-
IMAGO and Gottman Level 1 techniques for relationship and communication challenges
-
Brainspotting for deep emotional healing
-
Motivational Interviewing to support change and self-growth
-
Trauma-informed practices for individuals and families
Additionally, I have extensive training in clinical supervision, LGBTQ+ diversity, addiction and trauma, and neuroscience-based approaches to therapy.
My Message to You
Originally, I set out to work with individuals with developmental disabilities. However, along the way, I was introduced to the world of mental health and therapy. I quickly realized how deeply rewarding this work was—both personally and professionally. The therapy and support I’ve given and received over the years have helped me grow in ways I never expected, and I’m grateful for the meaningful connections I’ve built throughout my career.
A Little More About Me
-
Who I work with most: I see individuals struggling with anxiety and trauma, as well as couples navigating communication challenges.
-
A book I’d recommend: Radical Acceptance by Tara Brach, Ph.D.
-
Hobbies & Interests: I love spending time outdoors, gardening, and reading. There’s nothing better than connecting with the community at an outdoor event—especially if there’s live music! I have a soft spot for a good banjo, fiddle, or violin tune.
-
Favorite novel: Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert Heinlein.
-
Coolest place I’ve traveled: Sedona was breathtaking, and Sapelo Island was an unforgettable experience.
