About Me
Hello, I’m Jonathan Seay. With five years of experience as a therapist and a rich background in emergency services and military service, I specialize in supporting individuals and couples navigating diverse challenges. My focus includes working with the LGBTQIA+ community, those exploring non-traditional relationship structures such as ethical non-monogamy and polyamory, and individuals involved in kink. Additionally, I have extensive experience assisting first responders in managing trauma and the unique stressors associated with their roles.

My journey into therapy was shaped by over six years of active duty in the military as an Infantry Line Medic and Flight Medic, followed by roles as a paramedic and firefighter. These experiences exposed me to the profound need for compassionate mental health support, inspiring me to pursue a career where I could offer such assistance. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel valued and understood, regardless of their backgrounds or where they are in their personal journeys.
My Approach
I adopt an eclectic therapeutic approach, integrating elements from cognitive, behavioral, psychoanalytic, strengths-based, and trauma-informed models. This allows me to tailor therapy to each individual's unique needs and goals. As a sex-positive and kink-aware therapist, I provide affirming care for clients exploring intimacy, identity, and connection. My aim is to foster a collaborative environment where clients feel empowered to explore their challenges and work towards healing and growth.
My Message to You
Transitioning from military and emergency services to therapy has been a profound journey. These experiences have deepened my understanding of trauma and resilience, informing my compassionate approach to therapy. I believe in meeting clients where they are, honoring their unique experiences, and supporting them in navigating life's complexities.
