About Me

Hi, I’m Amberli Shupe. I became a therapist because I’ve always been fascinated by how the brain functions—not only biologically, but also socially. I’m deeply interested in how our relationships and environments influence our mental and emotional health. Whether it’s our interactions with others, the world around us, or even nature, I believe that every layer of experience contributes to our sense of self and well-being.

My passion for counseling is rooted in that connection between science and humanity—how we think, how we feel, and how we find meaning. I’m here to help clients make sense of their stories and find their path forward, with curiosity and compassion at the core of every session.

My Approach

I take a thoughtful, collaborative approach to therapy that is both empowering and reflective. I often draw from Existential Therapy to help clients explore meaning, values, and purpose, and I incorporate Feminist Theory to recognize the impact of societal systems and identity on everyday experiences.

My therapeutic style is warm, grounded, and rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I integrate CBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed strategies, and I’m currently continuing my training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) to further support clients who are exploring identity, emotion, and healing from the inside out.

My Message to You

Therapy is more than just a space to process pain—it's a place to reconnect with yourself, find meaning, and rediscover joy. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, or big life transitions, I’m here to support you in a way that feels safe, empowering, and uniquely yours.

A Little More About Me

  • Who I Work With Most:
I work with adolescents (16+), adults, neurodivergent individuals, and LGBTQ+ clients. I frequently support people working through anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, and life transitions.

  • A Book I’d Recommend:
I Thought It Was Just Me (But It Isn’t) by Brené Brown – a great read for anyone navigating shame, perfectionism, or the pressure to “hold it all together.”

  • Hobbies & Interests:
I love exploring the mountains and spending time in nature. I’ve also visited 16 roller coaster parks (and counting!). In quieter moments, I enjoy crocheting cozy pieces and spending evenings curled up with a good book, a cup of tea, and my pup by my side.

  • Favorite Novel:
    Childhood favorite: Percy Jackson series
Adult favorite: Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas

  • Coolest Place I’ve Traveled:
Los Angeles, California – from the vibrant energy of the city to the serenity of Santa Monica’s coastline, LA offered a mix of nature, culture, and creativity that left a lasting impression.

  • Best Movie I’ve Seen Recently:
Wicked – I’ve loved musicals since childhood, and this one continues to be a favorite for its heart, message, and music.
